How I Got Here
Throughout my life I have always been curious and fascinated by the natural beauties in the world. I never saw art as a chore, but it always held this understanding that you must continue to practice and be curious if you want to further your work. My passion lies in 3D sculptural work: ceramics, assemblage, wood, metal, paper, etc. I heard my calling to become an art teacher later than most, but knew that my foundations as a teacher grow from curiosity and exploration. One art teacher once told me that we aren't "making artists, we're nurturing curiosity." I feel that it is my job to demystify art and help my students understand that they are creative, but that they need to practice the different ways to express that creativity.
